ECONOMIC FOR DANCERS IDEA

SUPPORTING those that CREATE/INNOVATE what WE DO, and keep US, and our businesses going.

LOVE: THE HUMAN DNA,

In the last 50 years, we’ve encountered DANCE STYLES under the umbrella term of “STREET DANCE”, and it should be very obvious the word, “TECHNIQUE” has been used wrongly, because “TECHNIQUE” is in everything; even a parent teaching a child how to walk, has a “TECHNIQUE”. So, in DANCE STYLES, any move/movement we can’t immediately see and do, is a “TECHNIQUE”, which is a CERTAIN way to move the body that WE must learn, that goes on top of DANCING!! TECHNIQUES in STREET DANCE STYLES and in TRADITIONAL DANCES have been around for CENTURIES, and has helped build concrete businesses for dance schools, dance contests, and dance events around the PLANET...with the CULTURES usually NOT benefitting from what THEY CREATED/INNOVATED; ECONOMIC FOR DANCERS IDEA CHANGES that.

Economic wisdom in dancers and in dance styles for all generations (especially in “street dance styles”), aren’t as strong as the other parts of the CULTURE they come from; “other parts of the CULTURE” being "VOICE (singing/MCing/rapping)", Djing, WRITING (a.k.a. "Graffiti Writing"), and beat-making/sampling; all making money that pays into one another. Those “other parts of the CULTURE” make money that pays into one another, that DANCERS/DANCE TEACHERS/DANCE CHOREOGRAPHERS/DANC JUDGES need to catch up with. See, “the other parts of the CULTURE”, have found ways to give each other money through percentages/royalties for using each others ART/GIFTS; like in the popular word, “SAMPLING” in music. By this point in life, every DANCER/DANCE TEACHER/DANCE CHOREOGRAPHER/DANCE JUDGE in “STREET DANCE STYLES”, knows music is sampled from different generations and used in a song. But, maybe, not everyone knows that "samples" have to be cleared, paid for, and then the song can be put out. So, that means, the company that puts out the music that was "sampled", "everyone (producers, writers, etc..)" that worked on that music, and the artist in the spotlight; all get paid.... 1 happy, sharing, & paid family.

But, where is this “1 happy, sharing, & paid family” in DANCE???

Street dance styles have been growing rapidly over the last 35 years, on TV, movies, dance studios, documentaries, and online platforms. Around the world, the words that explain STREET DANCE STYLES, like “CAMPBELLOCKING (“locking”), “FRESNO BOOGALOO/POPPING”, “STRUTTING”, “BBOYING/BGIRLING (“breaking”), “HIP-HOP/HIP-HOP FREESTYLE/HIP-HIP STAND-UP PARTY ROCKING”, “HOUSE DANCE”, “WHACKING/WAACKING”, “VOGUING”, “HEELS” and more, are used by many dance schools, dance studios, dance events, and dance contests around the PLANET; keeping businesses running smoothly. Though the dance styles are growing far and fast, the economic value is still not as strong as the visual presence of these dance styles.

See, in DANCE, especially STREET DANCE STYLES, there’s an unfortunate SYSTEM pushed idea that, “dancers are slaves”, “dance isn’t a real job”, and “no one should dance all their lives”. No matter how MANY movies, documentaries, biographies, and interviews we read & watch from people in their 80s in dance styles like tap dance, african dances, salsa, ballet, and other older dance styles, who are STILL dancing, teaching, choreographing, and judging…… the careers seem to end with the stories, “look how the "in-DUST-ry” jerked them””, OR, “look how poor they ended up, it’s so sad”; MOST take that home in the MIND as a "normalcy". Instead of hearing those “tragic stories”, and thinking of what is the REMEDY:

ECONOMIC FOR DANCERS IDEA, is that REMEDY, we all need.

So, in the music business, WE KNOW, “sampling” an artist from the original song, all participating in making that song has to get paid, and all participating in making the new song that uses that "sample" has to be paid the more the song sells; all get a percentage of those sells, again, 1 happy sharing/paid family. This simple business model, is not in DANCE/DANCE STYLES, because we’re falsely taught to believe it’s hard to “sample” a step or DANCE STYLE. But, we’re quick in street dance styles to have a slang word for “sampling”, known as “biting (copying/stealing a creative move/technique of someone else, without giving credit)”, and there are MANY “biters” out there; WE KNOW THIS!!

To sit and wait for a SYSTEM to make laws against, “biting/sampling dance”, would be a long wait, which is why this “ECONOMIC FOR DANCERS IDEA" is made. “ECONOMIC FOR DANCERS IDEA”, gives the world-wide dance community, a chance to start supporting itself, instead of waiting for people outside of the dance world to come up with a corporation that will pay us more “one day”. We don’t have 401 Ks, and other financial benefits that are put aside for us when we do dance work, so we must do this ourselves.

Let’s THINK of the millions of dollars made for the media, and those who didn’t grow up in the CULTURES of HIP-HOP/FREESTYLE/HOUSE/FUNK-STYLES, making money from just using names of STREET DANCE STYLES and CULTURES, by attaching THOSE NAMES in commercials, movies, events, contests, and other forms of business. What have those businesses contributed to those people that have CREATED/INNOVATED these STREET DANCE STYLES that are still alive?

We KNOW the answer is, “NOTHING!!”.

So, it all comes down to where we put money that serves what we do.

Let’s think how masses run to pay taxes into a SYSTEM they constantly complain about, but yet, do it every year, with very little changes ever happening. Think how many in the dance world run to buy new sneakers and clothes, and not realizing that money can be invested in "US (the DANCE STYLE CREATORS/INNOVATORS/DANCE TEACHERS)". There are dancers that have over 20 pairs of SYSTEM created labeled sneakers and shoes in the closet, that don’t realize if they added up how much money that is, they most likely can pay rent and bills with that money. The masses are only following this concept to pay taxes, and spend money unnecessarily, because "the system (politics, dogma, judicial (courts), media, education, and science/medicinal sub-systems that make up the system)" has pushed in MINDS the need to spend money without seeing if the money is truly benefiting the PURPOSE WE DO THINGS; PURPOSE, IS DANCE WITH FINANCIAL LONGEVITY.

ECONOMIC FOR DANCERS IDEA puts an easy stamp on how to live this PURPOSE, for generations here now, and for generations to come. FINANCIAL LONGEVITY, by paying out to the CREATORS/INNOVATORS/TEACHERS of DANCE STYLES, and CHOREOGRAPHERS, and JUDGES using those DANCE STYLES; paying out MONTHLY or per job to those CREATORS/INNOVATORS.

Let’s think who we are, when we say we’re TEACHERS of a DANCE STYLE we didn’t CREATE or INNOVATE, but we teach those dance styles without inviting CREATORS/INNOVATORS to teach first. This isn’t fair to the students that pay for truth in the history, pay for correct techniques, and pay to see/learn the true level of the dance style they want. IF the SYSTEM can live off of taxes masses of people pay, then, those masses of people can figure out ways to budget money to give to CREATORS, INNOVATORS, and TEACHERS that keep CHILDREN inspired, give parents a break from CHILDREN, keeps all ages healthy, and gives all ages opportunity to make more businesses. This written idea gives masses of dancers, dance students, parents of dance students, and patrons of dance a chance to CHOOSE to do something that helps many; without taking a big chunk out of the pocketbooks or wallets. We’re a GIFTED DANCE COMMUNITY that has been GIVEN OBVIOUS GIFTS to CHANGE the world, and showing WE can support EACH OTHER, if we’re treated correctly or NOT treated correctly, is the HUMAN evolution.

Before reading the “ECONOMIC FOR DANCERS IDEA" below, let’s clarify some terms. WE ALL KNOW what a “CREATOR” is, but the word, “INNOVATOR”, can be a term that may be confusing, and used too broadly. “INNOVATORS”, are "THOSE" that added to a dance style, and many dance teachers of the dance style are using what THEY "added (“their innovation”)", and THEIR "contribution (“innovation”)" is known among CREATORS and the people in the culture/s where the dance style comes from; searching the internet can easily help confirm their dance innovation:

NOTE:

This ECONOMIC WISDOM FOR DANCERS IDEA, can be used in any "ARTFORM (Djing, MCing, Fashion, Writing, Painting, etc…..)".

This ECONOMIC WISDOM FOR DANCERS IDEA below, is focused on monthly payments to CREATORS/INNOVATORS, and RESIDENT TEACHERS in dance studios, dance workshops, dance events, dance judges at dance contests that teach dance styles and get paid to do judge solos in certain dance styles, and dance choreographers that use these dance styles that have CREATORS/INNOVATORS that are STILL ALIVE, or have sons/daughters or parents that are STILL ALIVE.

Please look at the proposed LIST of CREATORS/INNOVATORS in each DANCE STYLE that has given the DANCE WORLD around the planet so much to learn from and share. This idea, easily works for any NEW DANCE STYLE that may come in the DANCE WORLD, and spread. Some dancers in certain DANCE STYLES may have contributed a DANCE STEP that is often used in the DANCE SYTLE, meaning what they brought in, helped pushed the dance style forward. For example, in LITE FEET certain party dances (BAD ONE, TONE WOP, etc….) were added in by people, but those people weren’t responsible for making the whole DANCE STYLE. Regardless, these people should also get some kind of payment when there’s a class focused on the party dance they created/innovated:

WE should also give to those who have consistently trained all ages of DANCERS in community-building based DANCE companies, that have trained all ages to become renowned DANCERS, TEACHERS, and/or CHOREOGRAPHERS; great leader and company example is Violeta Galagarza of kr3ts (kr3ts.com). She has trained DANCERS for over 30 consistent years, and given the DANCE WORLD so many great DANCERS, TEACHERS, and CHOREOGRAPHERS that uplifted generations in DANCE/DANCE STYLES.

This “ECONOMIC FOR DANCERS IDEA”, should be added in the tuition of a recital school, added in the payment of a class, or just something we do at the end of each month, or per dance job. This proposed payment plan below, is affordable for anyone TEACHING/CHOREOGRAPHING these STREET DANCE STYLES.

This “Economic wisdom for dancers” idea proposed here, is without paper contracts, and without violent document threats & law enforcement that comes if paying late (like debt, taxes, and royalties in music). It’s a document/idea that’s focused on the moral and spiritual contract of love for what we do. We don't do this, or DO, it only shows where the heart and mind is about self, and about US as CULTURES/DANCE COMMUNITY. Though this IDEA doesn’t need to get the consent of all listed below in order to give them money that says, “thanks for all y’all have given us”, the IDEA was still sent to them to see if they fully agree with this “ECONOMIC FOR DANCERS IDEA”.

ECONOMIC WISDOM FOR DANCERS IDEA FINANCIAL BREAKDOWNS

Dance styles and their CREATOR/INNOVATORS:

FRESNO BOOGLAOO/POPPIN (a.k.a. Boogaloo and Popping):

CREATOR: Boogaloo Sam: $5 per month per student

INNOVATORS: Electric Boogaloos $3 per month per student (Popin’ Pete, Suga Pop, Mr. Wiggles, Jazzy J, Skeeter Rabbit, and Popping Taco).

NOTE: For Skeeter Rabbit, and Popping Taco who are now deceased, the $3 per month can be sent to their children (to the CHILDREN’s guardian if not an adult yet); and if no children, then send to their parents. If neither exist, then no money needs to be sent.

CAMPBELLOCKING (a.k.a. “Locking”): thelockersdance.com

CREATOR: Don Campbell, $5 per month per student, though deceased, the money can be sent to his son, Dennis Danehy that keeps his legacy going, and is on instagram page: @dennisdanehy1972.

INNOVATORS: The Lockers (the 8) $3 per month per student to the alive members: Slim The Robot, Flukey Luke, and Toni Basil.

Tony GoGo, ($3 per month per student), this is where the word, “INNOVATION” really comes in, as he took the DANCE STYLE to JAPAN in the 80s and stayed there. He became the main teacher for the DANCE STYLE throughout all of Asia, and his trademark "lock", and way of doing the style is easily seen on those who do the DANCE STYLE over there.

INNOVATOR NOTE: Though Fred “Mr. Penguin (a.k.a. “re-run” from What’s Happening 70s TV show craze), Greg “Campbellock Jr”, Shabbadoo Quinones are deceased, money can go to their children. $3 per month per student. If they have more than one child, then each month choose a different child to send the money to. Divide it evenly among how many children there are. For example, if there are 3 children, then pay April to the oldest, May pay the middle child, and June pay the youngest child. Then repeat this process all over again with July paying the 1st child, and so on….and if no children, then send to their parents. If neither exist, then no money needs to be sent.

NOTE: in cases like SLIM the Robot, the honesty or knowledge of the history of the Robot would have to be there with the connection to Mime, and Marcel Marceau’s students, “Shields and Yarnell”. Which then the $3 will go to "them", and the teacher should be able to show the difference between the ROBOT, and the FUNKY ROBOT (the FUNKY ROBOT innovation, $3 would go to Slim)!

PUNKING/WHACKING/WAACKING:

https://youtu.be/l62XRkUym2Q

INNOVATORS: Viktor Manuel, Billy Goodson, Shabbadoo Quinones, Ana "lollipop" Sanchez, and if it’s found out that any of the deceased innovators (Tinker, Arthur, and Lonnie) have children, we send the money to the children…. and if no children, then send to their parents. If neither exist, then no money needs to be sent. $3 per month per student.

BBOYING/BGIRLING (a.k.a. “Breaking”):

INNOVATORS: $3 per month per student goes to the World-wide known INNOVATORS, which are the members of the 70s crew called, “RSC (Rock steady crew)”. Of course, there are other crews that were around in the 70s, and are known for adding in things to Bboying/Bgirling, and when what they did is focused on in a class, then $3 per student is sent at the end of the month to that INNOVATOR that focused on in that class.

HIP-HOP

(a.k.a. “Hip-hop stand-up party rocking” or HIP-HOP FREESTYLE“, which has PLENTY OF INNOVATORS, and no creators.

INNOVATORS: $3 per month per student goes to the World-wide known INNOVATORS in the members of Elite force (www.eliteforcecrew.com). They’re “OLD SCHOOL, MID-SCHOOL, AND NEW SCHOOL DICTIONARY” instructional video is definitely a landmark purchase for many around the world that are interested in Hip-hop. Many that have learned from them, have made online videos and tutorials that have come from their information.

INNOVATORS NOTE: $3 per month per student should go to those who use the information dancers in classes where they focus on a specific INNOVATOR, say like members in crews like, Misfits, Soul Brothers, Fendi, Lil Shaik (money would go to his children), and Brian “Footwork” Green, when any of their information is used in a specific class. For example, unknown to Brian, from watching him freestyle to Hip-hop Music, in Japan, and now throughout Asia, a move was named after him, known as the “Brian Turn”. Though he doesn’t agree with this name, it has been a stamp when Hip-hop is taught in Asia, and for this reason, a payment would go to him every time the step is taught in a Hip-hop class where he’s not able to be there to fully explain the technique of the step that was given a name he didn’t agree with, and wasn’t able to teach to many before it was named. Only the last 7 years has he been asked to teach this move in Asia.

HOUSE DANCE:

INNOVATORS: $3 per student goes to the world-wide known members in "Dance Fusion (Shan S, Caleaf Sellers, Sekou Heru, Tone McGregor, and a sibling or parent of Marjory, “Larj Marj” Smarth)", Ejoe Wilson, and Brian Footwork Green.

INNOVATORS NOTE: As HOUSE DANCE has other people that have put things in, the names above are the most popular name that started in the 80s, and have been consistent in the spread and teaching of the HOUSE DANCE STYLE. The are others after them (like: Joey Anderson, Qu, Step Fenz, and others) that have INNOVATED things, and people have been inspired by them; those people should be sent $3 at the end of the month for the class that's focused on their information in HOUSE DANCE.

FUSION:

https://www.instagram.com/reel/CpovZ2KuJmA/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

INNOVATORS: $3 per month per student, Shan S and members of Step Fenz (Tony Bones and David “Cyclone” Fogler) with “BROUSING (Fusion of Bboying and House Dance), Daniel E. Kelley III (Fusion of House Dance and Waving), Brian Footwork  Green (Fusion of House Dance, Fresno Boogaloo/Popping, Waacking, and Isolations/grooves).

HEELS CLASS:

CREATOR: $5 per month per student goes to Danielle Polanco. (https://www.instagram.com/dannip18/)

STREET JAZZ:

CREATOR: $5 per month per student goes to the son of the deceased Keith “Boogie” Williams.

INNOVATOR: $3 per month per student goes to Keith Lewis.

NEW STYLE HUSTLE:

About New Style Hustle — new style hustle worldwide (squarespace.com)

CREATOR: $5 per month per student goes to Jeff Selby, and if he mentions any INNOVATORS, then $3 goes to THEM.

RESIDENT TEACHER NOTE:

For all the DANCE STYLES, the RESIDENT TEACHER gets an extra $1 a month per student for keeping the DANCE STYLE going in the place on the planet THEY are TEACHING.

TEACHING NOTE for ECONOMIC WISDOM FOR DANCERS IDEA:

In this fast-paced world where the SYSTEM wants MASSES to move so fast THEY don't THINK.

We, as TEACHERS control the platform of what WE TEACH in dance studios.

So, where there is more than 1 INNOVATOR, take a month to FOCUS on CLEANING the TECHNIQUES & VARIATIONS of TECHNIQUES INNOVATED by that INNOVATOR (then the next month, do the same for a different INNOVATOR in the DANCE STYLE); this keeps the $9 per student, per DANCE STYLE, easy to DO.

CHOREOGRAPHERS/JUDGES PAYMENT

CHOREOGRAPHERS that use a DANCE STYLE, and JUDGES that judge a DANCE STYLE (with or without a judge demo) give anything over $5 each time y'all choreograph or judge.
